Franck Muller Launches Vanguard Damascus Steel Sincere 70th Anniversary Edition
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Southeast Asian retailer Sincere Fine Watches, Franck Muller has launched the Vanguard Damascus Steel watch (Model: V 43 S6 SQT DAMAS SINCERE 70TH (5N)).
The new watch, measuring 42.5mm in diameter and 12.6mm thick, features Franck Muller's signature tonneau-shaped silhouette. The case, crown, buckle, and movement bridges are crafted from Damascus steel, a material named after the high-quality steel used in ancient bladed weapons over a thousand years ago. Additionally, the case inserts, dial flange, crown cover, hands, and small seconds subdial markers are crafted from 18K rose gold.
The modern Damascus steel used in this new watch is crafted using powder metallurgy, mixing 304L and 316L steel powders before forging. This is a tribute to Franck Muller's long-standing partnership with Sincere Fine Watches. The case is milled from the Franck Muller workshop in Genthod, a suburb of Geneva, then briefly acid-etched to create a textured surface before being meticulously polished to a mirror finish.
This watch is equipped with the manually wound MVT FM 1740-VS2 movement, which beats at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) and features twin mainspring barrels for a seven-day power reserve. The small seconds dial and mainspring barrel are positioned at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock, creating a beautifully symmetrical aesthetic. The Damascus steel bridges feature a repeating "V"-shaped skeleton design, complementing the sleek lines of the case.
The Franck Muller Vanguard Damascus Steel Sincere 70th Anniversary Edition comes with a black alligator leather strap secured with a Damascus steel buckle.
