It quickly became an automotive legend, but it had to end its long career in 2015 after selling 450 examples.
A year later, the Chiron, named after 1930s Bugatti driver Louis Chiron, was unveiled to the public with much fanfare. It pushes all the limits previously set by the Veyron: W16 power boosted to 1500 hp and 1600 Nm of torque, a speedometer up to 500 km/h, and its carbon structure reinforced with aero parts. To put the point into perspective, it cost twice as much as its predecessor... Soon, more than half of the planned 500 cars found buyers, and Bugatti set a new record: 0-400-0 in 41.96 seconds, 490 km/h top speed. Personally, I especially appreciate the effort the manufacturer has put into detailing the W16. Like the continuation of the madness of the Chiron, this watch will undoubtedly leave its mark on the history of watchmaking, just as Bugatti has left its mark on the history of automobiles. As for aesthetics, it's certainly not the prettiest watch on the market, but I find that the readability is still pretty much on point thanks to the colored hands.
