Versace Aiakos Automatic Watch
The Versace brand is most often associated with edgy Italian fashion. I'm no expert when it comes to writing about clothes, but I've always admired Versace's ability to incorporate aesthetics from Italian history into everything from socks to suits. Versace is clearly trying to appeal to the brand's existing fans with their timepieces. Such stylish watches are usually at the top of the price and quality ladder. So where does Versace fit in?

At the same time, a watch needs to have an independent value as a timing instrument. This meant that a Versace watch needed to be a product that immediately fulfilled the requirements of a functional timepiece and had to exist within the Versace universe. The Timex team in Milan are actually pretty good at this.
The initial reaction of replica watches online lovers to watches like the Versace Aiakos Automatic may be one of silence. "Why is there so much extra stuff on it?" Well, because it's a Versace watch. Have you ever seen a Versace suit? The brand specializes in luxurious textures and patterns that recall traditional Roman and Greek architecture and translate them into stylish images. The Aiakos Automatic is an exercise in creating a modern casual/dress watch for those who want a respectable Swiss made timepiece that also exists within a fashion theme or brand they admire. In this regard, the Versace Aiakos Automatic does a good job.
As a dress watch, it may look large, but the wider diameter case is stylish and fits well on its own. Ironically, on many suit-wearing wrists, the watch might look a bit large. This means that in my opinion, this watch is actually better suited for short sleeves (unless you are someone with larger wrists). The steel case is well machined and measures 44mm wide by about 11mm thick, with a lug-to-lug distance of about 52mm (about as much as my wrist can take). Above the dial is an AR-coated sapphire crystal, and the case is water-resistant to 50 meters. The non-screw-down crown has a beautiful Medusa logo pattern that echoes the 12 o'clock position on the dial. What I found interesting and kind of cool is that each location has a slightly different Medusa logo.
The case features intricate design elements, including the panels and bracelet structure. I actually think this bracelet is very well done, with the bevelled edges of the polished links and the asymmetrical laser engraving of the special pattern (I believe Versace calls it the "Greca" pattern) that runs all the way down its length. The same Greca pattern appears on the dial in the same plane, making it appear as if it flows across the entire high quality cheap watches.
The proportions of the hands and hour markers on the dial of the watch are excellent, and even though the dial has a kind of "light-on-light" palette, it is legible as it is just a mix of silver finishes and shades. You do need to have a certain preference for the Versace brand to appreciate the personality of the dial, but if you do then you never need to feel like you are sacrificing function over form as the overall appeal of this dial is also very classy.
A minor annoyance for some watch enthusiasts is that the case apparently contains a movement that is smaller than its overall diameter. This doesn't bother me, but some collectors don't like to see cases that are clearly twice the size of the movement, or that the date window is near the center of the dial (the latter being a clear sign of the former). I agree that a more harmonious match of movement size and case would be ideal, but I don't think most consumers mind the movement size or the date position.Discount replica watches
You can view the movement through the sapphire crystal case back window. It is a Swiss ETA 2824 self-winding movement with a frequency of 4Hz and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The movement comes with a few decorations that contribute to the visual cachet of the product. Versace probably won't take business away from traditional watch brands like Longines, Baume & Mercier or Hamilton with its timepiece collections, but fashionistas probably won't feel the need to leave the brand if they want a decent timepiece.
For me, this is where Versace succeeds. Its relationship with the Timex team in Milan ensures its watches are both handsome and presentable when judged in a vacuum. If you're interested in the Versace brand, their real appeal comes into play, meaning you can wear one of these watches without having to make excuses for not wearing a watch from a more traditional brand. Versace may sell more women's watches than men's (at least in the West), but I think its large and established collection of watches is worth a look for those who want something classic and stylish without being boring.
