Chopard launched a limited edition of 100 pieces of the Alpine Eagle watch, aiming to conquer this land of the rising sun. The darkest version of the brand's luxury sports watch to date, the dial is inspired by the jet-black hue known in Japan as shikkoku. This rich black comes from the millennia-old Japanese lacquer craft called urushi. Inspired by Chopard ambassador Japanese rugby player Keita Inagaki, the Alpine Eagle 41 Shikkoku Japan-Only breaks up the grades and does away with the date indication in order to preserve the contemplative monochromatic vibe of the dial.

Like all Alpine Eagles, the tonneau-shaped case and circular bezel with eight alignment screws are finished with vertical brushed surfaces and polished bevels. Caliber 01.15-C
The self-winding movement of the other Alpine Eagle time and date model - Caliber 01.01-C - was redesigned to remove the date mechanism, resulting in the new Caliber 01.15-C. The movement, still certified as a chronometer by the COSC, beats at 28,800vph and offers a formidable 60-hour power reserve, displayed through the tinted glass case back.
