This year, the ultra-modern and innovative watch brand HYT has expanded the H3 series (recently launched during the 2015 Basel International Watch and Jewellery Show), and now HYT has launched a fourth line, starting with HYT H4 Gotham. The first launch of HYT was launched only in 2012, in 2012, and is called H1. Second, the combination of red liquid and black DLC coated housings introduced H1 Dracula DLC Edition for the first time. Matte black and red tubes produce a strong impact, and only the bellows that hold (and pump) the liquid are rhodium-plated. On the HYT H4 Gotham, the main board and other visible moving parts are not black coated, but these parts are sandblasted.
Third, this is probably the biggest change compared to the H1 Dracula DLC version. The shape of the H4 is the same as in the case of HYT Skull! So far, familiar ingredients. There are also three new features! What is new is the case material. H4 Gotham is HYT's first case made entirely of ultra-rigid 3DTPTM carbon. Due to its excellent stiffness-to-mass ratio, this material is used in the aerospace, marine and automotive industries. It comprises a carbon filament woven to a maximum diameter of 7 microns and a thickness of 0.15 mm.
Another new feature of HYT is that time is displayed on the bezel instead of the flange. HYT H2 Titanium Black DLC
In 2012, when the first Hydro-Mechanical watch was launched, H1, the young and crazy brand called HYT, caused considerable confusion in the watchmaking world. These guys have a strange idea that their work is equipped with the biggest enemy of a watch: liquid. We tested this watch and we felt the love of it, just because of the rationality and seriousness of the concept. As early as 2013, just one year after their first attempt, HYT brought a more exciting successor in the name of HYT H2 Titanium Black DLC, which we tested again.
We handled the HYT H1 Red2 for a few weeks and gave us some clues about how serious this concept is. When this watch went to the world, we first felt great excitement, but there was some doubt. How can a newly registered brand achieve such a complex idea. Of course, the HYT team consists of watchmakers and talented engineers (composed of their sister company Preciflex). But even...
However, they did it - they did a good job! The project has clearly been achieved. We were very surprised to find that such an idea could have been completed in such a short period of time and was so severe. This could be a toy or watch locked in a safe. Not at all! It can even be considered a sports watch that is sturdy and can be used as a suitable daily beater. Of course, development is not so easy, HYT has to face several industrialization and reliability issues - it has now been fixed. Even more surprising is how fast the brand introduces a second watch, using the same fluid indication concept, but with a more complex movement and display. HYT H2 brought back the main interest of HYT H1 (the brand's debut): the time indication of the flow. While most watches are rotated by hand on the central axis for display time - or at least a disc or satellite - it is still a mechanical module driven by gears, wheels and levers. With HYT - whether we are talking about H1 or H2--the watchmakers are bringing something meaningless or even dangerous to the watch: liquid. The HYT H2 shows more features, a better integration of the fluid modules, and now goes directly into the movement, with a longer power reserve and amazing levels of detail. The first H1 was to create a buzz. H2 aims to establish the brand's reputation and prove the seriousness of this concept to others in the industry.
Like the HYT H1, the main feature of the HYT H2 is the regulator-type display, whose capillary is filled with two liquids: fluorescent and translucent. The time indication is divided into two parts: the time is indicated by the fluid and the minute is indicated by the central pointer - which is novel compared to the HYT H1, since the minute does not rotate the display in the sub-dial of 12. The minute hand is now larger and is located in the middle of the watch. It must be read on its own sapphire track, which is located inside the green tube. However, it is no longer a classic hand. Between 5:30 and 6:30, it will make a small jump and continue around the dial.
The participation of APRP is easy to find. The movement is fully open and shows incredible depth. All technical elements - the gear train, the escapement module and the piston - are fully exposed. We also found a typical APRP crown indicator of 3 and something new: a temperature indicator of 9:30. The final improvement over the HYT H1 is an expanded power reserve. The APRP team is known for its strong energy consumption and power consumption, while the HYT H2 is shown with an 8-day power reserve.
HYT H2--This is the Titanium Black DLC version - obviously a huge watch. Its outer casing is made of lightweight and solid titanium and is blackened with Diamond Like Carbon technology and measures 48.8mm x 17.9mm. Like its predecessor, the HYT H2 may be a concept watch and a technical demonstration, but it is also a sports watch. The HYT H2 is equipped with a threaded back cover and a screw-in crown to keep the watch waterproof to 50 meters. Of course, it won't replace your Tudor Pelagos or Omega Seamaster, and we suspect that the owner of HYT H2 will use it as a suitable tool watch. However, the watch is durable and sturdy. This time, we don't make a separate part for the dial and the pointer, because both are fully integrated in the movement. HYT H1 is more classic in its method. The movement created with Chronode consists of two modules (classic clockwork and fluid movement with bellows and pipes) connected to the cam mechanism.
In the context of HYT H2, these two modules are now fully integrated in one movement. Compared to the first creation of HYT, the first thing is the position of the piston/bellows, now in the V-shape - which reminds us of the Harley-Davidson engine. The bellows are positioned in a V shape, optimizing the integration of the interface and connecting the watch mechanism to the fluid system. This system can be seen on the dial No. 9. It consists of a worm wheel with a gradually increasing diameter that creates pressure on the arm that compresses the left bellows to push the liquid in the capillary. This structure leaves more room than the H1, so the minute hand can be placed in the center position and the balance spring is placed on the black bridge in the upper half of the dial.
The escapement module is not the only exposed mechanical component because the gear train and several wheels that drive the minute hand are also fully visible at the front. The dial shows an extraordinary depth and provides a futuristic, industrial and mechanical thing for the HYT H2. If we have to add our objectivity to the equation, we must admit that HYT H2 is a very successful project with excellent modern methods, extreme and unusual looks, a very interesting technical content, still All of these elements are fully realized in almost (almost) every occasion, durable and wear resistant. However, it has the drawback of most concept watches, which means that the readability is not as good as the classic watch (the minute that must be read on the track, because its position is not natural) and it lacks a little elegance - not on the HYT H2 Platinum Edition Too obvious thing.
